“ROSTOK-HOLDING” Group Doubled the 2014 Winter Wheat Area

“ROSTOK-HOLDING” group has finished swing of winter wheat, with 4.2 thou hectares sown for 2014 instead of the planned 3.6 thou hectares.

Compared to last season (2013: 2.4 thou hectares sown), the area under winter wheat increased by 1.8 times.

“The increase in planting acreage is due to the potential growth of demand for further yield on the back of the projected reduction of the total area under winter wheat in Ukraine. In addition, the experience of previous years, the adequate choice of equipment and technology as well as the geography of our land plots serve sort of a guarantee of good shoots”, — said Yurii Lebedev, Chief agronomist of the group.

All in all, the autumn campaign was a success despite record low temperatures and heavy rain, mainly in September.

Recognized varieties of winter wheat were used for planting.

On top of that, the group completed fall-plowing on the territory of 13.1 thou hectares.
