The farms of “ROSTOK-HOLDING” started spring field works. In particular, spring barley and peas are being sown now. Just to recall, the farms plan to sow 5.2 thou hectares of spring barley (2017: 3.3 thou hectares) and 1.2 thou hectares of peas (2017: 1.0 thou hectares).
“Hard weather conditions during this season — the frosty and snowy first month of spring, which was pretty much delayed — oblige us to mobilize the existing potential to the most extent and ensure the proper organization of labor and technological processes. There is no time for the “ramp-up”. The situation requires productive use of every single day. We are convinced that we will be able to level the weather factor. Before the start of sowing campaign, the company upgraded the existing fleet of machinery with new tractors and aggregates. The additional quantity of agricultural equipment was in time contracted and will be leased,”—said YuriiLebedev, Chief agronomist of the group.
To date, soil is being fertilized and cared to preserve moisture.
“Last week under the most favorable weather conditions the first nutrition of winter wheat on the area of 6.8 thou hectares was conducted,”— addedYuriiLebedev, Chief agronomist of the group.
The state of winter wheat is assessed as good by the agronomists of the group.
