The farms of “ROSTOK-HOLDING” Group started spring fieldwork. In optimal terms and under the most favorable weather conditions first winter wheat nutrition was conducted.
The state of winter wheat is assessed as good by the agronomists of the group (Just to recall: in fall 2016, winter wheat was sown on 7.7 thou hectares).
“This year we managed to track the condition of winter wheat crops as well as to carry out fertilizing at much higher quality standards. This is largely due to the drone aerial photography as well as the in-depth analysis of the data obtained in the aftermath of flights. On top of it, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles reduced the time required for planning fieldwork as well as the cost of large-scale equipment rotation”, — said Yurii Lebedev, Chief agronomist of the group.
In addition, farms are preparing the soil for sowing spring crops. Now the soil moisture is being captured and fertilizers are being applied.
In 2017, the group plans to sow corn on 21.3 thou hectares (2016: 18.5 thou hectares). The areas under sunflower and soybean will be practically stable: sunflower will be sown on 12.5 thou hectares (2016: 12.8 thou hectares), soybean — on 5.2 thou hectares (2016: 5.1 thou. hectares). Also the farms intend to sow 3.3 thou hectares of spring barley (2016: 3.6 thou hectares), peas — on 1.0 thou hectares (2016: 0.1 thou hectares), millet — on 0.6 thou hectares (2016: 1.2 thou hectares). The area under fodder crops will be ca. 0.7 thou hectares.
