“ROSTOK-HOLDING” will Increase Winter Grain Crop Area by 2.5 Times in 2015

“ROSTOK-HOLDING” group plans to expand the area under winter crops 2015 up to 10.5 thou hectares from 4.2 thou hectares in 2014, i.e. by 2.5 times y-o-y.

In particular, winter wheat is to be sown on the area of 9.9 thou hectares (2014: 4.2 thou hectares), winter rape — on 0.6 thou hectares (2014: winter rape was not part of the crop mix).

“Expansion of the area under winter crops is largely due to increase in the group’s total area under cultivation as well as a gradual increase of the share of winter grains in crop mix”, — said Yurii Lebedev, Chief agronomist of the group.

The farms of the group have already repaired the necessary agriculture machinery and are preparing soil for sowing winter crops. To date, 4.5 thou hectares of land have been prepared, which is 42% of the target.

In the meantime, mineral fertilizers are being supplied to the farms and seeds are being prepared.
