“ROSTOK-HOLDING” Fosters Agricultural Market Development by Increasing Exports

“ROSTOK-HOLDING” group promotes the development of the agricultural market of Ukraine by increasing exports of agricultural products and has won in the nomination “Increase in exports” (according to the The Ukrainian Farmer magazine).

The trade companies of the group are exporting crops to customers and partners in the Middle East, South Africa, Asia, Europe and the CIS.

“Throughout 2013 the trade companies of the group were exporting crops to the Middle East, South Africa, Asia, Europe and the CIS. 60% of the total crop sales were contracted forward as early as in spring 2013.

Today the issues related to further development of grain market in the mid-term and export opportunities of Ukraine are on the top of the agenda. The events in the Eastern and Southern Ukraine attract attention of the entire world. It has the reason behind it as Ukraine is a key player in the global grain market. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in 2013/2014MY our country ranked the 3rd in terms of grain exports, including corn, wheat, and barley, after the United States and the EU member states.

Despite the current difficult situation the trade season is in full swing. We do our best to contract the lion’s share of grain planned for export by early summer.

Despite the fact that last year we failed to gain a foothold among top ten exporters of grain, we made it our ambitious mission to meet our targets this year and we strongly believe we will succeed”, — says Tetiana Yakimkova, Chief trader of the group.

The panel of judges also noted the group’s business growth rate. In particular, out of 60 thou hectares of land under group’s management in Sumy and Chernihiv regions two-thirds were cultivated last year.

In 2013, the croppage of grains and oilseeds increased by 2.5 times to reach 225 thou tons. Corn and sunflower set up an all-time record of 177 and 35 thou tons respectively.

As at the beginning of 2014, the total storage capacity of the group doubled and exceeded 80 thou tons upon completion of construction and commissioning of the second stage of elevators in Ichnia town, Chernihiv region, and Glukhiv town, Sumy region.
