50 million hryvnias for a modern farm – this is the amount “ROSTOK-HOLDING” plans to invest in the development of animal husbandry in Novgorod-Sivershchyna

The agricultural enterprise completely reconstructs cow sheds in the village of Gremyach, builds a feed shed, and a silage pit. Brings roads into order. By the end of September, the milking herd is planned to increase to 205 cows, in 2022, after the complete reconstruction of the barns, the farm will accommodate 400 cows.

“It is time for a complete reconstruction of the second barn, where the Delaval milk pipeline will be installed – the cow will be milked directly into the pipe, from the pipe the milk will flow into the cooling tank, and from there – to the dairy plant. The milk will not come into contact with the hands of the milkmaids or with the air. It will be extra-class, so dairies will pay more for it,” says Vyacheslav Bulashenko, chief zootechnician.

“ROSTOK-HOLDING” purchased the farm in 2014. Chief zootechnician Vyacheslav Bulashenko remembers when he first saw the condition of the cows, he was frightened: they were exhausted, they were fed only meadow hay here. Milked 2 liters of milk per cow per day.

“Until 2014, there was no water in the barns, milking was done by hand, manure was carried out by hand, instead of the floor there were boards in places,” says milkmaid Hanna Kapyrulya about the farm in Gremyacha, Novgorod-Sivershchyna, “salaries were not paid at all.”

Since then, they have installed conveyors, made a vacuum system, lighting, and started harvesting fodder using modern technology. This year, they bought equipment for harvesting fodder: a mower, a rake, a bale truck for transporting hay.

In 2016, they bought heifers of the Holstein dairy breed.

Today, says the chief zootechnician, the farm has 120 dairy herds and 50 heifers.

One cow milks 26 liters of milk per day. And milkmaids receive an average of 10-11 thousand hryvnias in wages. The entire salary is “white”, with all deductions, taxes and a social package.

“Now you can work!” – the milkmaid Hanna Kapyrulya says at the end of the conversation.

“This is, in fact, devastation – what is now. There should be a modern farm using the latest technologies. Now we are investing 45-50 million hryvnias here, – says the general director of the agro-industrial holding Dmytro Kupavtsev, – I want jobs to be preserved, so that people do not leave the village, so that they have a decent job at home.”
